Ronnie’s Birthday @ the rock quarry
Well, 2016 is here and it has started off with a bang! Ronnie and I took a little (all the way across the country) road trip over the holidays.
We had an amazing time in Tennessee catching up with family and friends. Some friends of ours that knew about the role changes we are going through in YWAM asked to have a prayer session with the two of us. It was such a cool and intimate time. I love how God will use other people to speak to you. I think I can say that we both left feeling rejuvinated, inspired, and excited for the upcoming year. It never ceases to amaze me how God will use us in unique ways that are catered to our giftings. This year we will be tapping into a lot of these gifts.
Time in Ohio was a blessing as well. Ronnie got to share a little bit at his home church about what YWAM in TJ/Ensenada does and what our Mission Adventures program looks like. I think being able to share the praise stories and the trials that go on in missions, no matter where you are located, is a beautiful privledge of the body of Christ, encouraging each other and lifting each other up in prayer.
Now we are back in Ensenada and officially settling into life here. We found a house right before our road trip, that we will be renting. It was definitly a God thing. Everything we needed (being close to base, fenced in back yard) and some extras we wanted (fireplace, and extra space to be able to host people) are all there. That being said, it will be a stretch financially, but God is teaching us trust and full reliance on Him in all aspects of our lives, including our home.
The first week of Mission Adventures is coming up in March, with about 100+ participants to kick it off. Nothing like starting off strong! Please pray for us and the rest of the MA staff as we are preparing. Pray that we keep our focus on God and what He wants to speak into the student’s lives this year. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be moving in their hearts even before they reach Mexico. And pray for the locals that we will have the priveledge to serve, that they would experience Jesus through our actions and our conversations.
Thank you for all the love and encouragement you have shown Ronnie and I, especially over these past holidays. It helps to keep us going.
I miss you guys! But are happy you found your ‘spot’!
