August is coming to an end which means MA season is over. What an incredible experience it was to lead Mission
Adventures for the summer. We had an amazing group of staff that worked super hard all summer and we were proud to work alongside them. All summer staff have now moved back home for college or their next step. It will be fun to follow them and see how the summer has impacted their lives. Since March we have had 523 Mission Adventure students come to Mexico to serve the poor alongside us!!!! How cool is that! I heard students say things like “I had no idea people lived like this”, or “I felt God in a new and different way that I didn’t know existed until I came here” and one I can relate to ” I will never be the same”. So many people come here ready to serve and help the poor, what they don’t realize is they will go home a different person. The impact is real and God is doing great stuff here!
The last two weeks Jamie and I have been trying to adjust back into a normal schedule… or what we call normal. During MA we are working from early morning till late at night with almost no time for ourselves. It has been so nice to finally have some down time with each other:) We have been making more Jewelry which will be available online in the near future! This fall we will begin to prepare for next season. We have a couple conferences, theme team, and lots of ministries to visit. All of our YWAM staff that work here in Baja are going to a resort hotel in Loreto, Mexico next month. It is to celebrate 25 years as YWAM San Diego Baja. So we are thankful we get to go!

Our base is under construction! The sign says ” Expanding for greater Impact’!
Each MA cycle one night we focus on an injustice in the world. The injustice was the global refugee crisis. We wanted the students to have a better understanding of what a refugee is and how they can help. So we turned our worship center into a refugee camp. Students were given food, water and medicine rations. They had to meet a quota or they wouldn’t survive the scenario. It was way more impactful than we thought (Many of the people we work with here in Ensenada are refugees). The scenario we put on, plus the combination of everything else happening over the week God moved that night. Each night the scenario ended with us talking about ways we can help. It was brilliant. We would finished the night praying for refugees. We called it “Refugee Night” and it became my favorite session. I was not expecting the impact it would have on me. I would share something each night. In preparation I spent time educating myself on the refugee situation. I listened to interviews, watched videos, read articles and often found myself in tears. It was hard. But I got to watch how God would use this night to impact 500 kids, see their hearts break, pray alongside them, and then talk about how they can help! It was amazing. All that to say, Jamie and I felt this desire to go and see the refugee situation in Europe. We were asked by a friend to join him on a trip to some camps, but weren’t sure if we could afford it. We prayed, God said he wanted us to go, and soon after that funds came in to cover the cost! So this October Jamie and I are going to Germany for 8 days to visit some Refugee camps! Please keep us in your prayers, we really feel like opportunities for future ministry will come out of this.
