March is going to be exciting!

Our first Mission Adventure team arrives this coming weekend! We have spent the last few weeks planning and preparing outreaches, meals, sessions, the stage, and everything in-between. We have had to learn so much and we are still learning. It has been both fun and stressful at times. Dan and Carolyn have been super helpful and really great friends in this process. It has been great to work with them because while they were planning other areas of MA we were able to spend a plethora of time recreating the worship hall. 600 Mission Adventures kids will experience God and process their time in this space. During the day MA students are working among the spiritually and physically poor here in Ensenada. While they will have a major part in bringing change to Ensenada the biggest change that happens is in the students themselves.  Excited for the kids this year!!!!!

60 students arrive in one week! So for this next week we will be focusing on our staff and making sure they are ready. We will visit ministries and coordinate what will be happening throughout the cycle. Lots of people will be blessed!  Homes of Hope will be building 16 homes in March. Around 200 Mission adventure kids will build several of these homes. We will also build bathrooms, do VBS in communities and orphanages, visit re-hab centers and paint a mural!

IMG_0111Our home in Ensenada is coming along nicely. We have collected furniture here and there, built a dog house and kitchen table.  We have both a stove and water heater but neither are working yet. We still need a washer, but honestly we have way more than we need. We feel truly blessed to be where we are. The house has a backyard for the dogs and we are very close to the YWAM base. Unfortunately someone did brake a lock and steal  2 of our bikes.   We are hoping to install a gate to our driveway for better protection.

We have been experimenting making jewelry and other items that we hope to sell online or in a shop to help raise funds. Finding time to do this can be a challenge, but keep an eye out for the one of a kind “Byrley pieces”!

Here are some things you can pray for ….Pray for our home, safety and that we can get hot water (We’ve been without hot water since January!) Pray that we will be patient in this season of busyness. Pray for our marriage to stay solid. Pray for our health and our finances. Pray for the students, youth pastors, staff and all whom we work with and come in contact with. Pray that we can work well as a team to see the Lord’s work get done. Pray for the people of Baja Mexico, poverty and need is far too common, and finally, in the midst of the USA election pray with me that Christians find their identity in Christ, not in America.OBM-IMG_0926
