Can’t believe it’s already February in 2015! We have been so busy here with the YWAM DTS School. This week Ricardo from Mexico City is here speaking on the Father Heart of God. What a powerful topic! Next week we will be traveling to Ensenada to stay at the YWAM base there for a week of lectures. The following week Jamie’s parents will be visiting for a week! We are super excited for them to visit us here in Mexico. They will get to be apart of our busy schedule and see what all YWAM does. It’s going to be great having them here.
On March 2nd, the first Mission Adventure team arrives and things will only get more busy. We are super excited though! We love the opportunity to be able to take kids and introduce them to orphanages, shelters, and local churches to show them what missions is all about. Most youth go home with a different worldview and I truly believe that it will effect the decision they make regarding their career and lifestyle. It’s pretty exciting to think that more and more kids are growing up and wanting to change the world and reach every nation.
Recently, Jamie and I talked with a man in Zone Norte. He was just released from prison in the USA and immediately deported. He was timid and quiet. He was in prison over 20 years for a crime that would make most of us scared to be in his presence, yet alone speak with him. He talked about his year in solitary confinement and other traumatic experiences being involved with gangs. He told us how the only thing he knew about the bible was that his gang would send them to him in prison to smuggle meth and heroin inside. We invited him to a church service we were having. He said he “No” because God could never forgive him and he can’t be around a lot of people. So we continued to talk with him and explained how much God loves him. Eventually he followed us inside. After the service a friend of ours placed his hand on his back and prayed for him. God changed his heart. Speaking about that moment, In his own words, “God touched me and I feel like all this weight was lifted from my chest.” Long story short- He is now learning to love and forgive as Christ does. Last week I gave him a bible and joking I said “There are no drugs in this one.” He smiled and said “That’s ok, this one has my name in it and it came from my new friend.” Everyone knows Zone Norte is a Notorious place for evil. But don’t be fooled, God is there. He is working, lives are being transformed and people are meeting Christ.
We also have a new addition to our family! Her name is Skully! She is a 12 week old Mexican puppy! Not sure what breed she is, we thought she was going to be poodle and retriever but looks like she is going to stay pretty small so not sure what she is. She is all black and weighs 6 whole pounds! She only weighed 2 pounds when we got her at 8 weeks!

Love you two!!! You look amazing and the Holy Spirit is definitely shining through you. Miss you tons!
