A few weeks ago we moved into an apartment that is within walking distance to the base. It is nice to have a place that will be ours for awhile. The apt. has a loft area that Jamie will use as an art studio. We are super happy with the place, it was a big blessing to find one close by and cheap.
Jamie received a massive box of art donations from friends and family in Tennessee. It was seriously a huge box and we can’t wait to bless some kids here with the supplies. Come January we are preparing to teach art classes at an orphanage in Rosarito. Thank you guys so much!
Ronnie has been building houses with Homes of Hope the last few weekends, and learning different roles.
For every house built there are 4 or 5 positions that YWAM staff fill during the build. That is: A builder (Walls, electric, drywall,) , B builder (roof), Translator, Host and Team Captain. Not to mention the team of 15 or 20 people who volunteer and fund to have a home built. The Host makes sure everyone on the build team stays hydrated and is also in charge of painting. The team Captain is in charge of picking the team up from San Diego, going over the schedule,
transportation to job sites, debrief, and then return to airport in SD. This coming weekend Jamie will start training to help with Homes of Hope. She will be training as a Captain and Host. We are so blessed to be able to help needy families receive a home.
A couple weeks ago we helped a local church in downtown TJ put on a graffiti contest. Graffiti is huge in Tijuana. There was a 500 peso prize for the winner. There were also a few christian rappers who performed! It was super fun and Jamie got to practice some graffiti skills!
